Snugglebundl for Hypermobility help!

Shortly after launching the Snugglebundl lifting wrap in 2011 we were contacted via Twitter from a lovely Mum called Laura who suffered from Hypermobility Syndrome (HMS). She already had a young son and she explained to us how useful the Snugglebundl would have been for her. with a baby. This was the first time that I had been aware of HMS and subsequently started to look into it further.
This is some of the main facts that I have gleaned from the internet on the subject and of course why the Snugglebundl is such a great product for sufferers.
HMS is also referred to as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Type III, Joint Hypermobility Syndrome, and Benign Joint Hypermobility Syndrome. It is a genetic disorder caused by a defect in Collagen. Collagen is responsible for strength and elasticity for soft tissue and HMS is a result of the wrong amount of collagen making the soft tissues more elastic than they ought to be. Subsequently it creates a far greater stretch of joints and can lead to more frequent sprains and injuries.
There is so much to read on the subject and there are many associations that can guide you further to more about this like the Hypermobility Syndromes association (
We were delighted that Laura contacted us at the end of last year to say she was expecting their second child and could she try a Snugglebundl. Having been in conversation over the Twitter platform for so long Laura had really seen Snugglebundl grow and we were very pleased to send her a Snugglebundl wrap for her to review and hopefully to help with her HMS with her new baby.
So here is the review from her and some lovely photos of her gorgeous baby Bee to go with it too:) You can read this blog and all her others by visiting her website

We've had a snugglebundl since the day Bee was born. It's a product that sounded amazing to me as, suffering with my HMS, the prospect of not having to strain to pick baby up was fabulous.

I was not disappointed! We packed the snugglebundl in our hospital bag and in fact, the first time we used it Bee was less than an hour old and we were still in the labour and delivery suite.

It's made of such soft and cosy material that it lives up to its name of snuggle as that exactly what you want to do!

It has a very soft head support within the blanket so when you pick baby up it totally supports his/her head whilst their back is also supported comfortably.

You are also able to transfer your sleeping little one from the car seat straight into your arms or cot which is fabulous as every parent knows it's a task to do that and once you've woken the baby that's that!

Look how snugly Bee looks in his. We took it to Center Parcs with us when he was only 10 days old and aside from using it as a lifting blanket (in and out of the cot was brilliant) it was also great for keeping him warm whilst out and about.

I would recommend anyone that has joint problems like myself to invest in a Snugglebundl, for me it helped me bond without the increased pain I would have experienced bending and lifting without help.

*As a foot note to the story I was so pleased to finally meet Laura and her husband and their lovely baby Bee at the Baby Show at London Excel last month.
