The benefits of exercising throughout pregnancy are numerous. Research has suggested that gentle exercise helps your body to prepare for and recover from childbirth as well as helping to reduce nausea, insomnia, heartburn and aches.
Also when the time comes, teaching your baby to swim turns out to be more than just fun. Baby swimmers have better balance and are also better at grasping at things than non-swimmers. This difference persists even when children are five years old, when babies who have been taught to swim still outperform their peers, research from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) shows.
There are numerous swimming classes available and we met a super Mum who runs the Turtle Tots classes in Dorset. Just imagine a lovely swimming session with a relaxed baby who you can then place into a Snugglebundl to keep them cosy, warm and undisturbed!
